Still cautious on when the team will fully recoup losses from COVID-cancelled season, but black is better than red. Though many believed good times would never end, it is not surprising that an economic/culture shift has led to a waning in ticket demand, but the team is seeing positive response to their marketing adapting to the changing market.

McLeod Bethel-Thompson has always come across to me as smart, mature and an interesting subject who will speak his mind. His thoughts about the professionalization of kids for sports aligns with my views and observations. A continuation of sports serving only as a funnel to professional careers will continue to exclude so many from the joy of playing at all stages of their lives. I’m not surprised McLeod is trying to use sport as a rehabilitation device; tackling the systemic issues in sports will take more than one person, but we can all follow his lead, speak up about this culture and demand change.
