Herb Zurkowsky reports Claridge Investments, headed by executive chairman Stephen Bronfman and president/CEO Pierre Boivin, are front runners in creating an ownership group that may include the Wetenhall family and Lenkov brothers and possibly others in minority stakes.

Stephen Bronfman is the man behind the attempt to bring MLB back to Montreal, and has said the Alouettes could play at the new stadium proposed for the Peel basin region. It seems those with a stake in the stadium are betting it could solve the profitability issues that have plagued the Alouettes despite their popularity for most of the last 23 years. With a football field in a baseball stadium that remains to be seen.
