Gone suddenly and much too soon, Labinjo impressed many with his smile and on-field accomplishments during a 2008 Calgary Grey Cup run. My condolences to the Labinjo family.

Roger Yachetti’s death September 16th (link above) was followed by George Grant’s departure September 17th. Both were instrumental in the Hamilton Tiger-Cats ownership in the 1990’s. My condolences to the Yachetti and Grant families.

One fine, but an interesting one this week. Without any context, all fines look equal so we will never know which behaviours are discouraged more than others.

One fine in Week 12 continues with a trend of just over one fine per week, with the Week 10 high of five fines hopefully being the only anomaly this season.

In a twelve year career, the game has changed around Hebert and it has been hard for him to adjust his playing style (this is his second suspension this year). Ultimately, player safety won’t be secured until amateur programs change what is taught and encouraged since the behaviour is ingrained at an early age and suspensions at the professional level only punish after the fact.
