Awarding Calgary is contrary to statements that McMahon Stadium and the lack of a practice facility hurts the city in getting big events like the Grey Cup, although this may be the last Grey Cup McMahon hosts in its present state. Some would think a move to an earlier season would solve Calgary’s stadium and practice facility shortcomings, but it would only delay the inevitable.
