This story barely mentions the Argos, but filling in the gaps, the turf is being replaced between TFC games May 25th and July 1st, and before the Argos regular season home opener June 23rd. With a still-missing-from-the-schedule Argos home pre-season game, this must be the conflict holding up (now waiting 3 months) nailing down a date and venue.

The game has to occur between June 5th and 10th (maybe June 9th even), so since they know by now whether they can get new grass in and play on it with 10 days, they must be looking at other venues. Alternatives are Varsity Stadium and on the road in Ottawa. Neither are good. Playing fourth class citizen in a supposed world class city won’t win any one over. Blame this on the Argos at BMO? I don’t see how they are responsible for the condition of the turf in February.

Update: Looks like the game will be held in Guelph June 7th.
