Fines for the Roughriders and Lions over by-law violations uncovered in the SMS audit overshadow no salary cap violations. While most fans still place their trust in Chris Jones, the media are starting to sour on the “if you ain’t cheating you ain’t trying” motto of the current regime.

In Vancouver, Bighill’s contract concession resulted in a fine for violating the by-laws, though it is still not exactly clear what was the exact issue and if they could have provided the out within the rules.

With a brief announcement this morning that the CFL and Jeffrey Orridge are parting ways June 30th, the league started its search for the 14th commissioner in its 60th year.

Blue Bombers Post $2.8 Million Profit

From last week, the annual Blue Bomber report was sold as a $2.8 million operating profit (which it was), but after annual excess cash payment to Triple B Stadium, $1.6 million was required from reserves. In 2015, due to the Grey Cup, the team recorded a profit of over $5 million after all obligations.
