Loeb’s sale of the Rough Riders immediately following their 1976 Grey Cup win started their slow decline (and confirming an owner’s purpose is to hire good people and stay out of the way). That he got to see Ottawa football restored before his passing is fitting. My condolences to the Loeb family.
