Five player fines announced for Week 16, and the Eskimo organization were fined $20,000 and Edmonton coach Jason Maas $15,000 for backing out of the live mic broadcast. The initiative was unanimously approved by the board of governors. A strong warning was issued about the consequences of future actions opposed to a league mandate.
Analysis of the situation has produced ideas that the Eskimo arrogance will be ended as a result (ha!), that the league has finally ended the violation of league rules and policies by member clubs (out of Regina!) and the Eskimos needed a competitive advantage against the Alouettes (yikes!).
