I guess Roy Shivers/Danny Barrett in Saskatchewan doesn’t count, or maybe one of them isn’t African American? Write whatever you want, the truth is no longer important.

Note: It’s the title that is in error, stating they are the CFL’s first. The article is just pointless stating that it is a first for Edmonton.
