Few people can have such candor about their mistakes when they are vilified and made the punchline for jokes by others who weren’t there. Perhaps his biggest failure was communication, amongst staff and with the media about what the plan was, but also making rushed decisions without any thought as to how they should be presented.
Anyway, I think this proves father and son were neither the devil or idiots, just people ill equipped to run a sports franchise, and I’ve seen many people like that. Lonie was definitely young, immature and overconfident. However, wanting to act quickly to turn things around without a focused and cohesive plan and doing it are different things.
On another note, this claim, if true, is certainly interesting.
