Three days after announcing Edmonton has been awarded the 2010 Grey Cup, the announcement that the 2011 championship is awarded to Vancouver is made by commissioner Cohon. We shouldn’t see an announcement on the 2012 Grey Cup for eighteen months or so I would think, but at this rate watch for it in the next week.

A great idea, but I hope that suggestions to change rules that affect the integrity of the game require a perfect working model before it is implemented. In other words, popularity of a change shouldn’t matter if there is no solution without flaws.

I cannot agree with Mr. Young more. Replacing infrastructure like a stadium every 76 years seems reasonable. When an opportunity like the Pan-Am Games presents the opportunity, the whole community and all levels of governments should be behind it. (via cfl.ca)

Oronde Gadsden wants a franchise because there are a lot of players who don’t have a place to play with the shutdown of Arena Football and NFL Europe. Rochester and Detroit are mentioned as potential locations. The CFL states they are not talking to anyone in the US about expansion franchises. The report does not even try to flesh out the financial resources of Gadsden or his long term plans. No story here folks. Move along.
