The CFL and NFL have ceased talks on a new working agreement. No new talks are scheduled after months of talks between the two commissioners, but “… the door remains open”. The fact the NFL has put nothing on the table reflects their current leadership’s actual position toward the CFL. The CFL must be prepared to enforce the rules prior to original 1997 agreement with the NFL, or else the NFL will be getting player contract benefits without anything reciprocal provided to the CFL.
