The October 2020 release notes for the CFLdb family of sites provides an update on the changes made in the past month. Read on for details.

The following changes have been made to CFLdb Statistics since the last report:

  • Data: Added biographical information, primarily high school, for almost 1100 players, plus jersey number for 1 player season. (Thanks Mark!).
  • Data: Added archived game recap/statistics or statistics links to games from 1996 to 1998 (256 games).
  • Data: Related updates (over 2300 updates, additions and deletions this month).
  • Enhancement: Introduce Club pages.
  • Enhancement: Rework Streak page, adding Club/Team indicator to allow strict Team querying.
  • Bug: The introduction of the Club option (default) on the Streaks page solves the issue of streaks across team names not being counted. The Known Issues page has been updated accordingly.

Along with a few other cosmetic, data, performance, administrative, or infrastructure related bug fixes and enhancements (16 commits this month).

Special acknowledgement to major contributor Mark this month.

Roadmap

The current priority is to continue to work on changes to the site as the result of adding Clubs, refactoring pages to make data more accessible.

About Clubs

Clubs have been added as a high level container for teams in order to represent the life of a team that has different team names. Links to Club pages are currently found under Team pages, Name tab. The Club pages are sparse currently, with only select club statistics (which span all team names) available. More pages will be added in the near future.

The Clubs pages which provide an aggregated history of the team are:

  • Edmonton (once the current team has some results)
  • Hamilton
  • Montreal
  • Ottawa
  • Saskatchewan
  • Winnipeg
  • Baltimore
  • Sacramento

More clubs will be given their own club pages in the future, for now the focus is on teams with a history in the modern CFL proper.
