In the midst of the bye-weeks in the CFL schedule, CFLdb presents a few interesting links on a wide range of topics from the past month.
Wally Buono credits Ryckman and Gutsche. These two are not even on the top 10 worst owner list in CFL history, so they should be thanked as great caretakers of the Calgary franchise.
CFL presented opportunity with pending television contract negotiation. Nice reminder that last year’s ratings average of 700,000 is up almost 400,000 over the first year of the deal. You would think that should warrant a substantial increase in the next contract. Will the CFL bring the CBC to the table or will TSN snap up exclusive rights again with a lucrative offer before that can happen?
Sparse, but interesting report on a Canadian football game developed at EA. The conclusions may be suspect with no talk about CFL or CFLPA licensing, or facts (or even estimates) on the economics and issues, but a nice breaking of a story just the same.
