After the issues went public Friday, and caught on with the media and on Twitter, Citizenship and Immigration Canada have promised to work with the Ottawa QB.
Such a story naturally produces outrage and xenophobic comments (not showing Canada’s best light on an immigration story). Without defending CIC, their bureaucratic system is meant to not look at individual cases and a football player immigrating to Canada stands as an edge case not covered by the rules and formulas of a points system. Thankfully, by bringing this public, it will be resolved before Burris’ current work permit expires.
