They went with the saw blade, which I can live with because of the R. If it is the real deal, get ready to embrace it people.

First, If You Exclude All Others

I guess Roy Shivers/Danny Barrett in Saskatchewan doesn’t count, or maybe one of them isn’t African American? Write whatever you want, the truth is no longer important.

Note: It’s the title that is in error, stating they are the CFL’s first. The article is just pointless stating that it is a first for Edmonton.

Baggs Works Hard All Seasons

Finding off-season employment isn’t shameful, it is the right thing to do whether you make the minimum or $10 million a year. Your career will come to an end someday, and even with money in the bank, you have to do something with your time. With no experience or skills you are apt to lose that money a lot more quickly.

I’m speaking at the kids who are enthralled with celebrity and entitlement who believe doing nothing is the primary goal in life.

Hunt Talking Branding

Interesting information that no team name achieved more than one percent support in any research. Lots of details missing there, but I wonder if that is from the public naming contest or actual focus group short lists where none of the above was an option.

Let us be clear that the Rough Riders isn’t gone over rights to the name, but due to a condition placed on Ottawa’s admittance by an existing franchise. They have won no legal right to the Rough Rider name.

I am ready to accept whatever name (and we know what it is) the team has. Those that will refuse to buy tickets because of the name love to be unhappy I guess. If only the citizens of Ottawa had thought to legally challenge Saskatchewan’s condition rather than the stadium, maybe they could have got their name.

All that’s left is to see how it feels when full and on TV. And for the team to perform on the field and break that Grey Cup drought.

Alouettes OC Miller "Excited to be a Part of This"

Published on May 11, 2013 1:01 PM

Nice to see a profile in a US publication that doesn’t contain blatant factual errors about the CFL or play loose and easy with explaining the differences. Miller could have a long career in Canada, a candidate for a head coaching position with a few years of experience.

Entry Draft Expanded to Seven Rounds

Published on May 1, 2013 7:54 PM

To all those calling for the CFL to increase the number of non-imports on the roster, it is a CBA issue. The league cannot arbitrarily change that without opening negotiations with the Players’ Association. Very unlikely that it would be considered for discussion with a signed agreement on the books. Something to be discussed in the next negotiations before next season, but it is a complex issue to get agreement on and not the no brainer fans believe.
