No TNT on Lansdowne Stands Demo

A slower process, but a much cheaper alternative. Hard to say whether the neighbourhood would prefer a brief explosion and a cloud of dust or weeks of demolition.

There are some good ones in there. A very good crop of talent for team nominations and the ultimate award recipient.

Tommy Grant: 1935-2011

His almost 20 yards per reception over his career still places him in the top four all-time. Our condolences go out to the Grant family on the sudden passing of a CFL legend.

Bauer Calls for McMahon Stadium Discussion

Published on October 18, 2011 8:57 PM

A very vague call for stakeholders to step up from the Stampeders’ CEO, but no sign anyone is working together. Who are the interested stakeholders? The University of Calgary, the McMahon Stadium society, City of Calgary, Province of Alberta, private enterprise? It is not really clear who Bauer is speaking to. Combining the three parties (Stampeders, university and McMahon Stadium society) should be easy enough to then address the need for public or private partners.

Earl McRae: 1942-2011

We are terribly shocked at Earl’s sudden passing. Our condolences go out to the McRae family. Earl will always be remembered, despite being tough on them at times, as a friend of the Ottawa Rough Riders and the CFL.

Regina Awarded 2013 Grey Cup

Published on October 13, 2011 9:22 PM

A poorly kept secret when the team pre-announces their special announcement, what is interesting with the official announcement is the Nov. 24th, 2013 date. The two previous Grey Cups held in Regina occurred on Nov. 19th and Nov. 16th, officially because of hotel conflicts with a large trade show, but unofficially (and thankfully for the fans) because of weather concerns. Will the last cup in Mosaic Stadium at Taylor Field on a late November date be a spin on the roulette weather wheel?
