Hiring another CFL assistant coach with no head coaching experience in the media crucible that is Toronto is very risky. But so is hiring an NFL assistant or coach and those seem to be the two options. The days of recycling other teams' coaches are gone; teams will take risks with their new hires. Having interviewees present their plan for offense, defense and personnel will go a long way towards selecting the coach with the right vision for the team. Above all, have patience.
