The cfldb sites will be offline briefly Friday, Feb. 3 Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012 around 11 pm EST for site maintenance. Any interruption in service should be brief, a few minutes only. Please have patience and try again after 5 or 10 minutes. Thank you for your understanding in our efforts to improve cfldb.

Rob Vanstone recently called for a coaches salary cap in the CFL to provide a level playing field for all teams. He seemed concerned with players taking pay cuts while coaches were paid the going rate.
I don't debate the merits of such a system here. I am curious as to why this occurs to Vanstone now, when a little over a month ago he was encouraging the Saskatachewan Roughriders to use their "riches" to hand a blank cheque to Kent Austin. It is hard to take a flip-flopper seriously when what they believe obviously depends on the benefit to them.
You want some cake? Now no one can have any.

The factum outlines their argument that OSEG is legally obligated to field a team at any stadium, therefore their plan should be considered since single-sourcing isn't a requirement to acquire the franchise.

Written sports reporting has become a lost art. Print media, undergoing changes to the delivery method (from physical to electronic — web or app) and what is considered "news" in a connected world, is trying to survive in a world of Twitter, 24-hour sports channels, online video, reduced literacy and short attention spans by following the industry and directly competing for the time of an overloaded viewership. This drives the industry to the bottom about who broke the story first rather who told the story right and had all the facts.

I did not get to watch all of Grey Cup Saturday and Sunday, but I did see the game. I thought I would drop a few lines on the 99th Grey Cup broadcast.

cfldb has been conspicuously absent from posting many new in-depth articles this year and there hasn't been much other progress on the site either. With Grey Cup week upon us, our five readers are probably wondering where the links and analysis are. Unfortunately, events beyond our control have left no one with the time required to write in-depth articles or even find and select interesting links. We apologize to our visitors for the lack of news and progress.
I have been told, however, that this off-season we should expect big leaps forward at cfldb. Thanks for your patience.

We have not have a general stadium update article since June. Recent days have seen some developments in a few centres. It is time to catch up on the news from Ottawa, Winnipeg, Hamilton, Regina and the Maritimes since the season started.

Someday we will include these links on player pages (when we get player pages), but for now here is cfldb's compilation of stories on former CFL players and what they are doing now.
