Schedule Maker Invitation

The Toronto Sun has been attacking the CFL over this year’s schedule and the lack of Toronto visiting Hamilton on Labour Day. The whole Argos beat bullpen have been able to play fast and loose with the situation, stating the game was deleted and cancelled and calling the CFL schedule-makers stupid. The only tempered lament over the loss of the game is a short piece by Frank Zicarelli.

Depth of Moncton Market Unclear

Touchdown Atlantic II is less than a couple months away (Hamilton hosts Calgary Sept. 25) and there has still been no announcement that the game is sold out. After last year’s quick sellout expectations were high and demand was expected to be so too. After a fast and furious launch, the sellout failed to materialize. Now more than two months from the May 10th pre-sale launch without a sellout, can we say the CFL lustre has worn off in Atlantic Canada?

Lansdowne Park Conservancy Outlines Challenge

The Lansdowne Park Conservancy (LPC) today issued a press release of 15 issues that they believe need to be argued before the court. Originally their argument was the city didn’t follow their own policy regarding hearing procurement complaints. Of the 15 issues stated, 14 have nothing to do with not having their proposal reviewed by the city and the other is about the city acting unreasonably or in bad faith, which has already been ruled on (but not from a second proposal perspective). Instead, they focus on the merits of their proposal versus the OSEG plan the city has developed with OSEG over the last three years.
